New Insolvency Rules (The Insolvency Rules 2016) come into force 6 April 2017

The Insolvency (England and Wales) Rules 2016, were published and laid before Parliament on 25 October 2016. The new rules will come into effect on 6 April 2017, comprising 448 pages, and revoking all previous Insolvency Rules and Amendments. 

Initial sight of the new rules suggests there are no substantial changes which affect the role of a process server, however as the Practice Direction to accompany the rules has yet to be published, further information will be provided as soon as we are able to. 

The replacement of the Insolvency Rules 1986 in its entirety is the single-largest legislative change in insolvency law in 30 years.
